Before considering the sickness and mortality in Calcutta and its institutions in 1875, it will perhaps be well to glance back at the figures of the mortality in previous years, given in the Administration Eeport of the Calcutta Municipality for 187-5. The following statement shows the ratio per 1,000 per annum of deaths in each year from cholera, fevers, dysentery, and diarrhoea, and the totals for the year ;?
